A.K. GROUP
Karachi · Since 1989
Off the ship.
Through customs.
On the road.
Customs clearance, road transport, sea freight and warehousing — import and export, from one house with its own fleet and its own workshop.
Your one-stop solution for all your shipping needs
One family, three companies, one port.
A.K. Group was founded in 1989 by Mr. Wasiq Hussain Khan, a customs man who said at the start what he wanted the firm judged on: commitment, respect, honesty, integrity. Not a slogan — the terms of trade. The house is still his family’s, his son signs the cheques, and the terms have never been renegotiated.
What the house does is plain enough: clear it, carry it, forward it, store it. Four services and one set of people answering for all of them — so a file is never handed to a stranger halfway through.
Our success lies in our customers’ success, and we strive to create value that earns their lifetime loyalty. If they grow, so do we.

Founded in 1989 with a dream of providing top-quality shipping services. Over the years, we’ve grown and evolved, but our core values have remained the same.
Leading the field, not only working in it.
Mr. Wasiq Hussain Khan has spent his career in the customs clearing trade in Karachi, and a good part of it representing it. The members of the Karachi Customs Agents Association first elected him to its Managing Committee in 1998, and have returned him to it ever since — as a member, as Senior Vice President, as Joint Secretary, as General Secretary twice, and as President. He has worked directly alongside Pakistan Customs on bringing new procedure into the field — not as a spectator to the reforms, but at the table where they were argued.
As President he brought a NADRA e‑Sahulat biometric verification desk into the KCAA head office — opened on 30 August 2021 by the Director General of Customs Reforms & Automation, and the first at any such association in the country. It let customs agents and their importers and exporters enrol for the Pakistan Single Window on the spot, instead of queueing elsewhere for it.
- President, Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) — 2020–21
- General Secretary, KCAA — 2010–11 & 2016–17
- Senior Vice President, KCAA — 2004–05
- Joint Secretary, KCAA — 2009–10
- Convener, Standing Committee on Ports & Shipping, FPCCI — 2022
- Chief Election Commissioner, KCAA — 2025–26
A.K. Shippers holds customs agent licence CHAL #828 and is KCAA member #664.
He has used the offices as well as held them. As President he led the association’s delegation to the Chairman of the FBR, and argued in public that terminal operators were starting the demurrage clock at the ship’s arrival — against the five free days the rule allows — and that the trade needs a shipping regulatory authority an importer can take a complaint to.
What a month looks like from here.
Nothing here is rounded up. These are the figures the group works to.
Founded by Mr. Wasiq Hussain Khan on a reputation of commitment, respect, honesty and integrity. The core values have not moved since.
Import and export, containerised and bulk, across all three companies.
Documentation handled with precision and care, so international shipping stays hassle-free.
Rice, ore, salt, wheat, sugar, meal and expeller — the trade that keeps a port honest.
What A.K. Logistics is capable of lifting and delivering in a single day.
Short-term and long-term, on Main Hawks Bay Road, under a CCTV system with 24/7 monitoring.
Six trucks. Then thirty‑three.
“A.K. Logistics was founded to bridge the gap in Pakistan’s disorganized transport sector.”
It started with six trucks. It runs thirty-three today — and the growth was funded out of retained earnings, not outside money. That is a family firm, since 1989, putting its own profit back on the road.
4,000 – 5,000 tons of cargo daily
- Trackers on the trucks — 24/7 monitoring.
- Reflective cones carried as standard, to prevent accidents during breakdowns.
- Our own workshop for truck repairs — which is why downtime stays minimal.
Custom Clearance
Customs clearance and documentation handled with precision and care, so international shipping stays smooth and hassle-free. Our extensive network and long relationships with port and customs authorities are what make a clean release routine rather than lucky.
- 2,500–3,000 containers / month
- 25,000–30,000 MT bulk / month
- Import & export desks
“We do the hassle without you even knowing.”
Logistics & Transport
Thirty-three trucks, an own workshop that keeps downtime to a minimum, and trackers on every unit for 24/7 monitoring. Safety features travel with the load, including reflective cones to prevent accidents during breakdowns. Capable of 4,000–5,000 tons of cargo daily.
- 33 trucks
- Own workshop
- 24/7 tracking
- 4,000–5,000 tons / day
“Founded to bridge the gap in Pakistan’s disorganized transport sector.”
Freight Forwarding
At present 78% of transportation moves all over the world by sea freight. A.K. Shipping & Logistics is among the leading sea freight forwarders of Pakistan, with service contract rates with all major shipping lines — the lowest ocean freight, on your own terms — and route plans built to optimize both cost and transit time.
- Service contracts, all major lines
- Route plans: cost + transit time
“Combined with our clearing services your cargo shut-out chances would be reduced to approximately zero.”
Warehousing
140,000 sq ft of RCC covered area and 60,000 sq ft of open area at Plot No. K-28, Transylari Quarters, Main Hawks Bay Road, Karachi. Available on a short-term and long-term basis, with a CCTV system and 24/7 monitoring.
- 140,000 sq ft RCC covered
- 60,000 sq ft open

Secure, efficient and tailored storage — for a week or for a year.
Four things we are judged on.
Fast Delivery
Goods reach their destination quickly and efficiently.
Shipment Tracking
Track in real time — status and location, every step of the way.
Warehouse Service
Secure, efficient and tailored storage.
Safe Package
Secure, protected, delivered safely.
You get the picture. And the number on the seal.
Years of expertise have earned us a reputation for consistent quality. Our extensive network and strong relationships with port and customs authorities ensure smooth clearance. We provide transparent tracking — including container pictures with seal numbers — to guarantee safe delivery.
Not a status. A photograph.
Anyone can send you a status line. We send the container, the closed doors, and the seal — with its number legible — so the number on your paperwork and the number on the steel are the same number. That is the whole argument, and it is why the question “where is my container?” has an answer before it is asked.
Illustration, not a photograph — the seal number shown is deliberately blanked. On your shipment this is a real picture, and the number is the one on your container.
What crosses the desk.
Bulk parcels, containers, and specialised cargo — machinery, equipment, oversized. All of it read off one board, from one desk in Karachi.
Sample board. The cargo names are cargo A.K. Group actually handles; the reference numbers and movements shown here are illustrative, not a live feed.

AKTransport
We built our own transport software to run our own fleet. It has been running it for real, every day, against thirty-three trucks on the road. Now we license it.
- What it isTransport operations software: orders, dispatch to transporters, truck and container allocation, milestone tracking for the customer, and full double-entry accounting underneath it.
- Who it is forA haulage firm running 5 to 100 trucks, most of them hired — including in the UAE and the Gulf.
- Why believe itIt is not a demo. It runs A.K. Group’s own thirty-three-truck fleet every day. The seller is the heaviest user.
- Three portalsA customer portal to submit orders and watch milestones. A transporter portal to see assigned jobs, add trucks and containers, and close them. And the back office.
Steps 01–05 are what your customer watches. 06–08 are the same record becoming an invoice, a receipt and a ledger entry — without anyone keying it in twice.
What it closes
Some of these are happening in your office this month. None of them show up as a red cell.
-
A truck delivers, the delivery note comes back a week later, and the trip never reaches an invoice.
A to-bill board holds every finished order until every truck is on a posted bill, and an accrued-revenue report lists every delivered truck not yet billed.
-
The same container is billed in March and again in April, because the delivery note was filed twice.
A truck trip can be billed once, anywhere in the system. The database refuses the second bill — it is not a warning a clerk can click through.
-
A driver takes diesel on one truck; next month you pay the same transporter for another truck and nobody deducts it.
His payment sheet sweeps his whole fleet for open advances and diesel, on the same page as the deduction. One cheque settles the lot.
-
The plate says one owner, the man who actually supplied the truck is another, and the wrong man gets paid.
Who is credited for a hired truck is stored the moment the truck goes on the order — never re-derived later from whoever owns the plate today.
-
A paid invoice gets “corrected” after the cheque went out, and the bank and the book no longer agree.
Posted means closed. Unposting is a separate right from posting, every change writes an audit line, and a fiscal lock date closes a period for good.
-
A screenshot sent to your customer shows your purchase rate sitting beside your sale rate.
The customer portal is built sale-side only. No transporter, no cost, no office note — ever. The transporter portal carries no money on any screen.
The monthly price may change by up to 10% per year, with notice.
Vision, mission and a word from the founder
I am a customs man first. I have spent my life in this trade, and a part of that speaking for it, so I know what a week’s delay costs the man paying storage. We would rather tell you the bad news on Monday than on Friday. That is the whole of it.
Vision
The day we are working towards: no customer of ours has to ask where his cargo is, because we told him first. No container of ours sits on demurrage for a reason that lives inside this office. And a transport company in the Gulf runs its fleet on software we wrote in Karachi to run our own. That is the firm we are trying to be.
Mission
Ordinary work, done exactly. Papers in early enough that cargo is not shut out. Our own truck under the box, and our own workshop behind the truck. The seal photographed with its number in the frame and the picture sent — not described afterwards, sent. The shed dry and on camera. Two and a half to three thousand containers a month are made of mornings like that.
Two names you can ask for.
Wasiq Hussain Khan
Chief Executive Officer · Founder, 1989“A man rings and says, my cargo is coming. I do not ask him which cargo. Twenty-five hundred, three thousand containers a month come through this office, and I still know his — what he ships, which line he books, the port he buys from.”
Muzammil Hussain Khan
Chief Financial Officer“Some of these customers were shipping with my father before I could read a bill of lading. They watched me grow up in this office. Now they send me their accounts to settle, and they still ask after him before they ask about the money. So they should.”
Meat Export
A.K. Group exports meat from Pakistan to Gulf and Middle East markets. It is a new line for the house, and it is built on the parts of the house that already exist.
- Halal product. Handled as halal, end to end.
- Reefer containers. Temperature-controlled equipment, held at temperature from loading to the vessel.
- Documentation and customs clearance in-house. The same clearing desk that releases 2,500–3,000 containers a month.
- Freight already contracted. Sea freight, on the group’s own service contracts.
- A clearing arm that stops shut-outs. On perishable cargo, a missed sailing is the whole loss.
Illustration. Reefer equipment holds temperature from the point of loading through to the vessel.
